Rachel, an aging young lady, has left her city life behind for a vacation in the countryside. The country house she rents has a dramatic spiral staircase where a series of bizarre events occur one after another. The owner's son is shot and killed, and an apparition appears in the giant house late at night. The bank goes bankrupt and the owner, a banker, dies of a heart attack. The police are on duty day and night, but they can't stop the apparitions from happening again...
